What happens after you pass?

A theory pass unlocks the practical test. The practical test fee is €23.25 on a weekday or €40 on a Saturday, applied for on form DRV022. The test includes a minimum of 25 minutes of road driving for categories A and B, and 60 minutes for other categories. Being more than 15 minutes late means the practical test is cancelled.

Pass that and you receive a probationary licence valid for three years at a cost of €31. It is revoked if you collect 12 or more penalty points within those three years; complete the period cleanly and you move on to a full ten-year licence.
